Anyone who has lived in Mtunzini long enough knows that Zinians care about their well-being and are quite an active bunch. The fact that we have so many sports clubs and nature inviting us to play may have a lot to do with it. To celebrate our good health, the MRA and MEPS is hosting a WELLNESS day. In the past, this event was held over a week, but due to COVID it has been decided to have a one day event (At Dr Tabo Maree’s consulting rooms together with an online Facebook event), you can rest assured that this will be a jam-packed day with all necessary COVID protocols firmly in place.
Empangeni Life Hospital are sending their team to test blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol for anyone who is interested, between 9am and 1pm. According to medical science, you should get your blood pressure checked regularly, because high blood pressure is a silent killer. There are often no symptoms of this potentially deadly condition. So, while you’re going about your day, high blood pressure could be damaging your arteries, your heart, and other organs. The nasty consequences of leaving high blood pressure untreated include strokes, kidney damage, and even erectile dysfunction. Did we mention these tests are free?
Another exciting opportunity is Dr Neil Gomes (a Chiropractor and Spinal Sports Specialist) with practices in Durban and Richards Bay is offering spinal assessments between 1pm and 3pm – again this won’t cost you a cent. We only ask that it is your responsibility to call or Whatsapp Jodi on 082 506 8841 or pop into the MRA office to book your slot while there is still space.
Adding to the excitement is our very own fitness guru, Christy-Ann du Plessis, will be hosting an online fitness class to get those heart rates up and Amy Matthew, Zini’s Physiotherapist, will talk to us about the importance of breathing properly.
Come on Zini, let’s celebrate life and health with this great initiative. We hope to see you all there!!
